Trading Tools & Calculators

Professional trading calculators to help you manage risk and plan your trades effectively

Pip Calculator

Calculate the monetary value of a pip movement in your trading account currency

How It Works

A pip (point in percentage) is the smallest price change that a given exchange rate can make. For most currency pairs, a pip is 0.0001. For JPY pairs, it's 0.01.

This calculator helps you determine the value of each pip movement in your account currency, which is essential for risk management and position sizing.

Example: If you trade 1 standard lot (100,000 units) of EUR/USD and the price moves 1 pip (0.0001), the value of that movement is typically $10.

Calculate P&L

Understanding P&L

Your profit or loss is determined by the difference between your entry and exit prices, multiplied by your position size.

Long Position (Buy)

You profit when the price increases. If you buy at 1.0850 and sell at 1.0900, you make a profit.

Short Position (Sell)

You profit when the price decreases. If you sell at 1.0900 and buy back at 1.0850, you make a profit.

Formula:
P&L = (Exit Price - Entry Price) × Position Size × Contract Size

For short positions, the formula is reversed.

Margin Calculator

Calculate the margin required to open and maintain a position

Calculate Required Margin

1 standard lot = 100,000 units

What Is Margin?

Margin is the amount of money required to open and maintain a leveraged trading position. It's not a fee or cost, but a portion of your account equity set aside as collateral.

Leverage & Margin

Leverage allows you to control a large position with a relatively small amount of capital. For example, with 1:100 leverage, you only need $1,000 to control a $100,000 position.

Margin Formula:
Margin = (Units × Exchange Rate) ÷ Leverage

Example: (100,000 × 1.0850) ÷ 100 = $1,085 margin required

Warning: Higher leverage increases both potential profits and losses. Always use appropriate risk management.
