Understanding Commission Charges
Commission is charged per lot (100,000 units of base currency) as a round turn, meaning you pay half when you open the position and half when you close it.
Example: ECN Account with $3.50 commission per lot
- You buy 1 lot of EUR/USD: $1.75 charged
- You close the position: $1.75 charged
- Total commission: $3.50
Overnight Financing (Swap Rates)
Interest charges or credits for positions held overnight
What Are Swap Rates?
When you hold a position overnight, you either pay or receive interest based on the differential between the interest rates of the two currencies in the pair. This is called a swap or rollover fee.
Positive Swap
You earn interest when the currency you're buying has a higher interest rate than the currency you're selling.
Negative Swap
You pay interest when the currency you're buying has a lower interest rate than the currency you're selling.
