Account Questions

How do I open a trading account?
Opening an account is simple and takes just a few minutes. Click on "Open Account" button, fill out the registration form with your personal details, verify your email address, upload required documents (ID and proof of address), and fund your account. Once verified, you can start trading immediately.
What documents do I need to verify my account?
You'll need two documents: 1) A government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID card), and 2) A recent proof of address document (utility bill, bank statement, or tax bill) dated within the last 3 months. Both documents must be clear, in color, and show all four corners.
Can I have multiple accounts?
Yes, you can open multiple trading accounts under one client profile. This allows you to use different account types (Standard, ECN, VIP) for different trading strategies or manage risk separately. Simply log into your client portal and request additional accounts.
Is there a demo account available?
Yes! We offer free demo accounts with $100,000 in virtual funds. Demo accounts have the same features as live accounts and allow you to practice trading without risking real money. You can open a demo account by clicking "Try Demo Account" on our homepage.
What is the minimum deposit?
The minimum deposit varies by account type: Standard accounts require $100, ECN accounts require $500, and VIP accounts require $10,000. Islamic (swap-free) accounts have a $500 minimum deposit.

Trading Questions

What is leverage and how does it work?
Leverage allows you to control a larger position with a smaller amount of capital. For example, with 1:100 leverage, you can control a $100,000 position with just $1,000. While leverage can amplify profits, it also increases potential losses. We offer leverage up to 1:500 depending on your account type and jurisdiction.
What are spreads and commissions?
The spread is the difference between the buy and sell price of an instrument. On Standard accounts, we charge spreads only (no commission). On ECN and VIP accounts, we offer raw spreads from 0.0 pips plus a small commission ($3.50 or $2.50 per lot respectively). Check our Pricing page for detailed information.
What is a pip?
A pip (point in percentage) is the smallest price movement in forex trading. For most currency pairs, a pip is 0.0001 (the fourth decimal place). For JPY pairs, a pip is 0.01 (the second decimal place). Use our Pip Calculator to determine the value of pips in your account currency.
What are swap rates?
Swap rates (also called rollover or overnight financing) are interest charges or credits applied to positions held overnight. They're calculated based on the interest rate differential between the two currencies in the pair. On Wednesdays, triple swap is charged to account for the weekend. Islamic accounts are swap-free.
What is the maximum position size I can open?
The maximum position size depends on your account balance, leverage, and the instrument you're trading. Generally, you can open positions up to 100 standard lots (10,000,000 units) per trade. For larger positions, please contact our trading desk.

Deposits & Withdrawals

What deposit methods are available?
We accept multiple deposit methods including bank wire transfer, credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), e-wallets (Skrill, Neteller), and cryptocurrency. All deposits are processed securely and we don't charge any deposit fees.
How long do deposits take?
Processing times vary by method: Credit/debit cards and e-wallets are instant, bank wire transfers take 1-3 business days, and cryptocurrency deposits typically take 30-60 minutes depending on network confirmations. Funds appear in your trading account immediately after processing.
How do I withdraw funds?
Log into your client portal, go to "Withdraw Funds," select your withdrawal method, enter the amount, and submit your request. Withdrawals are processed to the same method used for deposit (as per AML regulations). We aim to process withdrawal requests within 24 hours on business days.
Are there any withdrawal fees?
Capital FX Markets doesn't charge withdrawal fees. However, your bank or payment provider may apply their own charges. For bank wire withdrawals, intermediary banks may deduct fees from the transfer amount.
Is there a minimum withdrawal amount?
The minimum withdrawal amount is $50 for e-wallets and credit/debit cards, and $100 for bank wire transfers. You must maintain the minimum account balance required for your account type.

Platforms & Technical

Which trading platforms do you offer?
We offer MetaTrader 4 (MT4), MetaTrader 5 (MT5), and WebTrader. All platforms are available on Windows, Mac, web browsers, iOS, and Android devices. You can download them from our Platforms page or directly from your client portal.
Can I use Expert Advisors (EAs)?
Yes, both MT4 and MT5 fully support Expert Advisors (automated trading robots). You can use existing EAs or create your own using MQL4/MQL5 programming language. EAs are not available on WebTrader.
What are the platform system requirements?
For Windows: Windows 7 or later, 2GB RAM (4GB recommended), dual-core processor. For Mac: macOS 10.10 or later, 2GB RAM (4GB recommended). WebTrader works on any modern browser. Mobile apps are available for iOS 11+ and Android 5.0+.
I forgot my trading platform password. What should I do?
You can reset your platform password from the client portal under "My Accounts" section. Alternatively, contact our support team via live chat or email, and we'll help you reset it immediately after verifying your identity.
Can I trade from my mobile phone?
Absolutely! Both MT4 and MT5 have fully-featured mobile apps for iOS and Android. The mobile apps offer real-time quotes, interactive charts, full order functionality, trading history, and push notifications. Download them from the App Store or Google Play.

Is Capital FX Markets regulated?
Yes, we are regulated by multiple tier-1 financial authorities: FCA (UK) under reference 123456, CySEC (Cyprus) under license 123/45, and ASIC (Australia) AFSL 123456. Your funds are held in segregated accounts with tier-1 banks.
How is my money protected?
Client funds are held in segregated accounts with tier-1 banks, completely separate from our operational funds. Additionally, eligible clients are covered by investor compensation schemes in their respective jurisdictions (up to £85,000 in the UK, €20,000 in Cyprus).
What are your customer service hours?

Do you offer educational resources?

Can I trade on weekends?
Forex and CFD markets are closed on weekends. Trading hours are Sunday 5:00 PM EST to Friday 5:00 PM EST. However, cryptocurrency CFDs are available for trading 24/7, including weekends.
